Terms of Use
These terms apply when you use Scribiz: the website, the MCP server, the API and the command-line tool, and the Mac app once it is out. Scribiz is made by Ilias Ism and provided by Superleuk LLC. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Scribiz. Questions go through the contact form.
What Scribiz does
Scribiz returns the context of a video or audio file: a transcript, the text and scenes shown on screen, a summary and chapters, exported as SRT, VTT, TXT, Markdown or JSON. Models write these results, and models make mistakes. They can mishear a word, misread a slide, invent a detail or leave something out. Scene notes are a model's description of the frames, not a record. Check anything you rely on, and do not use a result as the only basis for a legal, medical or financial decision.
Accounts and keys
You can use some features without an account. Others need one. You sign in with Google when the login page offers it, or with an email link. Once you have an account, you are responsible for what happens under it and for keeping your API keys secret. Tell us through the contact form if a key leaks, and revoke it in the dashboard. You must be at least 13 years old.
Your content and your rights
- You keep the rights you have in what you submit. Scribiz claims none of them.
- You promise you have the right to process what you submit: it is yours, you have the owner’s permission, or the law allows it, for example for personal study or accessibility.
- You give us permission to process it to provide the service. That means copying it, sending it to Google for processing and keeping the result for the period in the privacy policy.
- A transcript of someone else’s video is built from their work. Reading it for study, notes or accessibility is one thing. Publishing it, or selling it, usually needs the owner’s permission. That responsibility is yours.
- Results are private to you. We do not publish them and we do not use them to train models.
Acceptable use
Do not use Scribiz to:
- break the law, or infringe someone else’s rights
- process content you have no right to process
- get around a paywall, a login, copy protection or any other technical limit on another service
- attack, overload or probe the service, or try to reach other people’s results
- get around our limits, for example with many accounts or automated requests built to avoid them
- resell raw access to Scribiz or to the models behind it
- harass or deceive people, or process sexual content involving minors, which we report
Other services
Scribiz is not affiliated with YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or any other service named on the site. Their terms govern their content. We cannot promise that a link will work, because sites change and sometimes block servers. Scribiz produces text. It does not give you a copy of the video.
Minutes, plans and payments
Hosted work is counted in minutes of video. Captions use a tenth of a minute for each minute of video, and without an account they are limited to 30 lookups a day. Listen and Watch use one, Both uses two and each Ask question uses a tenth. Limits depend on your plan and are listed on the pricing page. The command-line tool counts in the minutes of your account when you sign in to it. With your own Gemini key it uses none, and Google bills you.
Paying, renewing and refunds
- Who you pay. Scribiz is sold by Superleuk LLC. Stripe takes the payment on its own page, and we never see your card number. Prices are in US dollars. Stripe may show the price in your own currency and charge you in it. The amount on the checkout page is the amount you pay. If tax applies, checkout shows it before you pay.
- Pro. Pro is a subscription, by the month or by the year. It renews at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time under Billing in your dashboard, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. If we raise the price of Pro, we tell you by email at least 30 days before the new price applies to you.
- Minute packs. A pack adds minutes that do not expire. They are used after the minutes of your plan.
- Mac Lifetime. A one-time Mac licence covers the app and its 1.x updates and does not include hosted minutes beyond any stated bonus.
- Refunds. Your first Pro payment is refunded in full if you ask within 14 days of paying. A Pro renewal is refunded in full if you ask within 7 days of the charge and have used no minutes since it renewed. A minute pack is refunded in full if you ask within 14 days and none of its minutes were used. Mac Lifetime is refunded in full if you ask at any time up to 30 days after the Mac app is available to download.
- How to ask. Use the contact form and write from the email address of your account. A refund goes back to the payment method you used, and what the purchase added to your account is removed when it is refunded. Nothing here limits a right the law of your country gives you, such as a right to withdraw from an online purchase.
Software
The command-line tool is licensed under the LICENSE file in its npm package.
Availability and changes
We run Scribiz as a service that can change. We may add, remove or limit features, and we may pause Listen and Watch for anonymous use, leaving only captions, when costs or abuse require it. We try to give notice when a change matters.
Takedowns and repeat infringers
If you believe a result infringes your copyright, follow the steps on the takedown page. We remove results when a valid notice arrives, and we may suspend accounts that repeatedly infringe.
Ending your use
You can stop at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or if we must, for legal or security reasons.
No warranty
Scribiz is provided as it is and as available. We do not promise that results are accurate or complete, or that the service will be uninterrupted, error free or suited to a particular purpose, except where the law says we must.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost profit, data or goodwill, arising from your use of Scribiz. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and 50 US dollars. Some places do not allow these limits, and then they apply as far as the law permits.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we change the date at the top. If you keep using Scribiz after a change, you accept the new terms. If a change matters, we will say so on the site first.
Who provides Scribiz, and which law applies
Scribiz is provided by Superleuk LLC, 500 Westover Dr #32164, Sanford, NC 27330, United States. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States. If you use Scribiz as a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.
