Where MacWhisper is better

  • On your Mac. It transcribes with local models on your Mac, so a private recording never leaves it.
  • Calls and dictation. It transcribes Zoom, Teams, Webex, Skype and Discord calls in the background, and offers real-time dictation for messages, notes and documents.
  • An editor for the text. A built-in editor to search and correct the transcript, speaker labels, and filler words like "um" and "uh" removed from the text.

Pick MacWhisper if you want speech to text that stays on your Mac: private recordings, calls and dictation.

What Scribiz does differently

  • It reads the screen. In Watch or Both, Scribiz also reads the picture: slides, code and text on screen come back next to the transcript, each with its time.
  • Summary and chapters. Each result has a summary and chapters with their times, ready for notes or a video description.
  • Built for agents. Claude, Cursor or Codex can read a video over MCP. The same account works in the web tool, the command-line tool and the API. About the MCP server

Pick Scribiz if the video shows things that matter, slides, code or text on screen, and you want them with the transcript, a summary and chapters.
